2011 Aerospace Thematic Workshop at Les Houches

Fundamentals of Aerodynamic Flow and Combustion Control by Plasmas

Les Houches Physics School, France

The 2011 AEROSPACE THEMATIC WORKSHOP on "Fundamentals of Aerodynamic-Flow and Combustion Control by Plasmas" will take place during the week March 27 – April 1 at Les Houches Physics School, a magnificent and famous conference centre in the French Alps (http://w3houches.ujf-grenoble.fr/index-en.html). This conference is the third of a cycle of conferences dedicated to the fundamental issues in the scientific disciplines relevant to aeronautics and space development. The first edition was held in Villa Monastero, Italy, in 2007, and the second in Les Houches in 2009.
The conference is managed by a team from the Paris region, with Svetlana Starikovskaia (Chairperson, Laboratoire de Physique des Plasmas, Ecole Polytechnique), Christophe Laux (vice-Chair, Ecole Centrale), Igor Adamovich (OSU), Walter Lempert (OSU), and Jean-Pierre Taran (local organisation, Onera) and a Steering Committee composed of Professors J. D. Kelley (University of Minesota), D. Knight (Rutgers) and S. Leonov (IHED). Presentations will address fundamental issues, experimental challenges, measurement methods and advanced numerical simulation. The attachments are intended to facilitate your application to and preparation for the workshop. Feel free to disseminate this information to interested people.
