Structures and Materials

This symposium addresses scientific and engineering developments that enhance aerospace structures and propulsion units with respect to Safety, Performance, Reliability, Environmental Impact, Lifetime Cost. The scope of the Symposium encompasses novel structural concepts and analyses, and developments in materials science and engineering that facilitate these advances in structural design. Papers relating to both aerospace structures and propulsion systems are sought that include both significant incremental developments of existing structures and materials, and novel advances that have the potential to radically change aerospace structures. Contributions that integrate improved understanding and representation of material behaviour into the structural design process are especially welcome.

In particular the following topics are addressed:

  • Structural dynamics
  • Structural analysis and Optimisation of metallic and composite structures
  • Certification and Qualification
  • Life prediction and condition monitoring
  • Materials for aerospace structures
  • Materials for Propulsion Systems
  • Advances in manufacturing processes
